Giulietta Lombardi - Product and Customer Service Co-coordinator in Perth

Tell us a little about yourself?

I grew up and have lived in Perth my whole life, I wouldn’t live anywhere else. I am grateful to my parents for making the journey to Australia from Italy in search of a better life for themselves and future generations. There are many beautiful cities I have visited around the world, but my family and two sons live in Perth, so this is home. Living in WA is amazing, I have been lucky enough to travel the Kimberley region on a few occasions and I would have to say my favourite place is Broome. There is something very special about watching the sunsets and the relaxed lifestyle this beautiful place has to offer.

Tell us how you started working for Willie Creek Pearls?

I started working for Willie Creek Pearls in September 2011 when the company opened the Subiaco showroom. I worked at Subiaco as a sales executive for two years, working with a great team including my twin sister. I believe we are the second set of twins to work for Willie Creek Pearls.

In 2013, a position opened at our head office for the role of receptionist. I was very happy to take up this position as I had many years’ experience in this field. I remain in this role today and enjoy every aspect of customer service.

As Product and Customer Service Co-coordinator in Perth, what does your job entail?

My role is quite varied, every day brings something new.

My main responsibilities are the maintenance and distribution of our freshwater pearl jewellery to showrooms, and customer service both in person or, for our interstate and international customers, over the phone and via email.  I look after enquiries, online sales, aftercare and product information. My favourite role is helping customers find the perfect pearl for themselves or a gift for a special person and occasion.

What is the best part of your job?

The entire team at Willie Creek Pearls work so well together to create a fantastic product and experience for our customers.

What is the toughest part of your job?

Some days we have challenges, but we work through the situation as a team to resolve the issue.

What is your favourite thing about working with pearls?

I love our annual pearl harvest; I get to see the new season pearls being selected and made into beautiful items of jewellery.

What is the most surprising thing you have learnt about Pearls or Pearling?

I had worked in jewellery sales with diamonds and gemstones for many years but had not had any experience with pearls. Learning about the process to create a pearl from shell to showroom has helped me appreciate the value of pearls.

What I found so special about Australian South Sea Cultured Pearls is that each pearl has its own unique character, so there is a pearl for everyone. Pearls are timeless, they can be passed down to the next generation, which is very sentimental.
